Professor John Shoven presented his research: "Target Retirement Fund – A Variant of Target Date Funds that Uses Deferred Annuities Rather Than Bonds". John is the former Trione Director of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and the Charles R. Schwab Professor of Economics at Stanford. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). John has been teaching the new personal finance course together with Michael Boskin and Annamaria Lusardi.
The Financial Literacy Colloquia series aims to bring together individuals on campus engaged in research and programs related to financial literacy, personal finance, household finance, financial wellness, and related topics. The objective is to present research and ongoing work and discuss the main findings and their implications, including how they can be used to teach personal finance or inform policy and programs.
