Kathleen McGarry

Kathleen McGarry Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles and serves as Chair of the University of California, system-wide Committee on Planning and Budget. From 2013-2017 she was Chair of the Department of Economics and also served previously as a Senior Economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. She has taught Public Finance to undergraduates and recently developed a new course in financial literacy jointly with Professor Bill Simon, piloting the course with small groups of students in preparation for a large lecture course.
